Evening Rounds is a risk management PREMIER ACTIVITY. PLICO is pleased to offer our insured providers the opportunity to attend Premier Activities* throughout the year in 2024. In addition to complimentary AMA PRA Category 1 CME™ credit, Evening Rounds sessions cover a variety of topics and provide valuable information to decrease risk and improve the quality of patient care. Technology in Healthcare: A Mixed Blessing

Technology in healthcare continues to evolve faster than our ability to adapt. By understanding the limitations of technology, we can improve patient safety, outcomes and expectations. Technology is a mixed blessing because while it can bring many improvements to care, it also can increase risk. There is a steep learning curve associated with any new technology but in healthcare, it can come at the patients' expense. This presentation will analyze malpractice data, common errors and challenges in deploying new technology in healthcare. We will focus on risk mitigation strategies that prevent erros before they happen, and reduce risk to patients and providers and improve both patient safety and outcomes.
